New BHS Corrugator
At Rand-Whitney, we pride ourselves on continuously investing in high end equipment that helps us provide nothing but the highest quality service. The driving force behind every corrugated packaging facility is high quality corrugated sheets. We have completed the installation of a brand new BHS corrugator. This state-of-the-art piece of equipment will be the workhorse behind our Boylston, MA facility. Having this corrugator in-house will allow us to produce more than 300 million boxes annually.
The BHS corrugator is a one of a kind piece of equipment. Built with over 30 components and measuring over 500 ft in length, this enormous machine will produce in excess of 8 million square feet of corrugated board daily.
The BHS corrugator switches between flute profiles in less than 5 minutes.
Each piece of this machine uses automated systems to make adjustments and run as efficiently as possible. On the wet end temperatures are adjusted to optimal levels. On the dry end, the autopilot system automatically ramps up the boiler and conveyors to reach a maximum speed of 15 mph.
The zero-defect system uses a large array of sensors to check for the smallest defects and eject defective portions. This helps us maintain our high quality standards.
